(DAILYMAIL) — Racial tensions in the US appear to be at a peak following the Charleston massacre and a string of black deaths at the hands of white police officers.

Now, data scientists have been using 2010 census data to better understand these racial tensions – and their resulting interactive map paints a worrying picture of segregation in the US.

It reveals how some American cities, largely those on the east coast, have a stark division between between white and black. In Detroit, for example, the division can be clearly seen between 8 mile.

U.S. troops in Afghanistan ‘feel abandoned’

WASHINGTON – ISIS is beginning to extend its influence into Afghanistan, but the Obama administration no longer is giving the country priority, and the 10,000 American troops that remain are feeling abandoned, a U.S. intelligence officer has told Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin

The officer, who is stationed in Afghanistan and has requested anonymity for security reasons, paints a bleak picture in a war zone that is apparently all but forgotten after an investment of more than $1 trillion by the U.S.

There simply aren’t enough active duty U.S. reservists or guard personnel in Afghanistan to complete the mission, he contends.

The United States has “zero strategy for the country,” the intelligence officer said.

“We’re essentially waiting for politicians to pull the plug.”

In March, President Obama announced he was freezing U.S. troop levels to 9,800 through the end of this year and would conclude the American war before leaving office.

Yet, defense ministers of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization meeting recently in Brussels reaffirmed their commitment to secure Afghanistan as security deteriorates.

On June 22, the Afghan parliament in Kabul was attacked amid clashes throughout northern Afghanistan.

The Institute for the Study of War recently pointed out that Taliban forces have attacked several strategic bases as their forces have been bolstered by foreign fighters, including Arabs, Uighurs, Chechens, Tajiks and Uzbeks.

“This force composition is somewhat unusual for the Taliban and may reflect a unification of effort between several anti-government militant fronts or a spillover of foreign militants into Afghanistan,” the institute’s report said.

In addition, it said ISIS is establishing judiciary courts and imposing social restrictions in a number of provinces as a sign of “its transition from a fighting force into a governing presence” in Afghanistan.

“The compelling threat posed by a growing ISIS legitimacy, the surge of foreign militants, and the effective military operations of the Taliban will combine to test the limits of the Afghan government and (Afghan security forces) throughout the summer offensive,” the institute said.

Professional leftists jump on ‘Dump Trump’ bandwagon

Now that both Univision and NBC have severed ties with Donald Trump in response to his remarks about Mexican immigrants, activists are setting their sights on the mogul’s business relationship with Macy’s Inc., urging the department store chain to “Dump Trump” as well.

A closer look at the leaders of the anti-Trump campaign reveals it is not the grassroots protest movement it claims to be. Rather, the “Dump Trump” operation is organized by professional progressive agitators with a history of dubious anti-conservative campaigning, including charges of misleading the public about the actual numbers of protest supporters.

Trump is a Macy’s merchandizing partner and occasional spokesman. Trump’s menswear line sells cologne, shirt, ties and other clothing and apparel while Trump himself has been featured in Macy’s television commercials. Macy’s has held major Trump-themed events at its flagship story at Herald Square in New York.

MoveOn.org, financed by billionaire George Soros, posted an online petition directed at Terry J. Lundgren, chairman of the Board, CEO, director and president of Macy’s Inc. The petition, which boasts of more than 709,000 online signatures, complains “Donald Trump does not reflect ‘the magic of Macy’s.’ We urge you to sever ties with him.”

That petition was written by Angelo Carusone, executive vice president of the heavily Soros-financed. progressive activist group Media Matters. Carusone has been identified in establishment media reports as the man behind the campaign targeting Trump’s relationship with Macy’s.

Indeed, Carusone first drafted his anti-Trump petition back in 2012, when the complaint was also sponsored by MoveOn.org. The petition accused Trump of repeatedly making “sexist” and “racially charged” remarks.

The activism led to Trump’s attorneys sending Carusone a cease-and-desist letter and threatening to sue him for “not less than” $25 million if the online campaign continued.

The letter charged Carusone had spread misinformation about the size and success of his protest, and it accused the activist and Media Matters of being “an ultra left political group aimed at suppressing free speech by targeting conservative activists and their business partners through baseless threats and intimidation.”

Professional crusader

Carusone is a professional anti-conservative social media crusader. He previously led a successful Twitter-based “StopBeck” effort targeting then-Fox News host Glenn Beck.

And he attempted to get businesses to boycott Rush Limbaugh regarding the radio host’s comments about contraceptives and “reproductive rights” advocate Sandra Fluke.

Carusone and Media Matters also ran “StopFox, StopPalin, StopLevin, StopOReilly and StopHannity” movements.

A report by NewsBusters charged Carusone’s anti-Limbaugh Twitter movement consisted of a “small number of Stop Rush extremists” who launched most of the messages and that “Stop Rush activists are full time extremists, not customers.”

NewsBusters further reported “Stop Rush tweets often originate from automated software, not people.”

Continued NewsBusters: “Media Matters and all these Stop Rush nuts are today’s political version of this scene from The Wizard of Oz where the ‘great and powerful Oz’ was revealed to be a fraud – just a guy behind a curtain pulling levers that belched fearsome images and sounds when in fact the whole thing was a fantasy.

“The Wizard of Oz in fact did not exist – and neither does the reality of the Stop Rush effort.”

Carusone told the Washington Post that his campaign targeting Macy’s has gained momentum from NBC’s decision to severe ties with Trump.

“Macy’s always had cover from NBC to the extent that it was willing to maintain that relationship,” Carusone said. “Not only has Macy’s just lost that cover, but NBC made it about values when they made that decision. Now (Macy’s) on the hook for the same values question.”

‘They’re not sending their best’

NBC announced it was officially distancing itself from Trump following remarks he made about illegal immigrants when he announced his run for president.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” he said. “They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

In a statement to Fox News.com, Trump labeled NBC as “weak and foolish” for ending its relationship with him.

“If NBC is so weak and so foolish to not understand the serious illegal immigration problem in the United States, coupled with the horrendous and unfair trade deals we are making with Mexico, then their contract violating closure of Miss Universe/Miss USA will be determined in court,” Trump said. “Furthermore, they will stand behind lying Brian Williams, but won’t stand behind people that tell it like it is, as unpleasant as that may be.”

Last week, Univision, the nation’s largest Spanish-language television network, announced it would not air the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, both co-owned by Trump, and will cut future business ties with the mogul in response to his remarks.

Texas attorney general: Marriage ruling ‘lawless’

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Sunday called the Supreme Court’s Obergefell v. Hodges marriage ruling “lawless” and pledged to uphold religious liberties in his state and fight any attempts to use coercion that would violate the conscience of those who oppose same-sex marriage by forcing them to participate in such unions.

In a blistering critique of the landmark decision, Paxton wrote: “Friday, the United States Supreme Court again ignored the text and spirit of the Constitution to manufacture a right that simply does not exist. In so doing, the Court weakened itself and weakened the rule of law, but did nothing to weaken our resolve to protect religious liberty and return to democratic self-government in the face of judicial activists attempting to tell us how to live.

“Indeed, for those who respect the rule of law, this lawless ruling presents a fundamental dilemma: A ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court is considered the law of the land, but a judge-made edict that is not based in the law or the Constitution diminishes faith in our system of government and the rule of law.”

Paxton indicated he is besieged by requests of hundreds of state officials seeking guidance on how to implement what he said “amounts to a lawless decision by an activist court while adhering both to their respective faiths and their responsibility to uphold and defend the U.S. Constitution.

“Pursuant to the Court’s flawed ruling, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas issued an injunction against the enforcement of Texas marriage laws that define marriage as one man and one woman and therefore those laws currently are enjoined from being enforced by county clerks and justices of the peace,” he said. “There is not, however, a court order in place in Texas to issue any particular license whatsoever – only the flawed direction by the U.S. Supreme Court on Constitutionality and applicable state laws.

“Importantly, the reach of the court’s opinion stops at the door of the First Amendment and our laws protecting religious liberty. Even the flawed majority opinion in Obergefell v. Hodges acknowledged there are religious liberty protections of which individuals may be able to avail themselves. Our religious liberties find protection in state and federal constitutions and statutes. While they are indisputably our first freedom, we should not let them be our last.”

While reiterating that the ruling “fabricated a new constitutional right in 2015,” Paxton concluded the decision “did not diminish, overrule, or call into question the First Amendment rights to free exercise of religion that formed the first freedom in the Bill of Rights in 1791. This newly invented federal constitutional right to same-sex marriage should peaceably coexist alongside longstanding constitutional and statutory rights, including the rights to free exercise of religion and speech.”

Paxton offered the following opinion to guide Texas officials and those asked to participate in same-sex marriages they deem inappropriate for religious reasons:

• “County clerks and their employees retain religious freedoms that may allow accommodation of their religious objections to issuing same-sex marriage licenses. The strength of any such claim depends on the particular facts of each case.”

• “Justices of the peace and judges similarly retain religious freedoms, and may claim that the government cannot force them to conduct same-sex wedding ceremonies over their religious objections, when other authorized individuals have no objection, because it is not the least restrictive means of the government ensuring the ceremonies occur. The strength of any such claim depends on the particular facts of each case.”

 

• “It is important to note that any clerk who wishes to defend their religious objections and who chooses not to issue licenses may well face litigation and/or a fine. But, numerous lawyers stand ready to assist clerks defending their religious beliefs, in many cases on a pro-bono basis, and I will do everything I can from this office to be a public voice for those standing in defense of their rights.”

Paxton concluded: “Texas must speak with one voice against this lawlessness, and act on multiple levels to further protect religious liberties for all Texans, but most immediately do anything we can to help our County Clerks and public officials who now are forced with defending their religious beliefs against the Court’s ruling.”

Israeli official: Obama’s got Muslim Daddy issues

Lolo Soetoro was the Indonesian stepfather of President Obama.

During a radio interview Sunday, former Israeli ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren reinforced his position that President Obama’s relentless outreach to the Muslim world may be motivated by Obama’s being abandoned by two Muslim father figures.

Last week, Oren had speculated Obama’s purported abandonment issues may have caused him to seek acceptance from the Muslim world.

Sunday, Oren maintained  “it’s a legitimate question” to ask whether the “abandonment” of Obama’s Kenyan Muslim father and Indonesian Muslim stepfather have been partially driving Obama’s policy toward Islam , the Middle East, the war on terrorism and Iran.

Oren was speaking on “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio” broadcast on New York’s AM 970 The Answer and Philadelphia’s NewsTalk 990 AM.

Oren, a historian and author, served as Israel’s ambassador to the U.S. from May 3, 2009 to 2013. He is now a member of Knesset and has been promoting his latest book, published last week, entitled, “Ally: My Journey Across the American-Israeli Divide.”

As part of the book promotion, Oren penned an opinion piece last week in Foreign Policy Magazine in which he labeled Obama’s Muslim outreach as “naïve” and “detached from a complex and increasingly lethal reality.”

Oren posited Obama’s policies of rapprochement toward the Islamic world “clearly stem from his personal interactions with Muslims” as well as the president’s academic influences.

Regarding Obama’s Muslim father figures, Oren wrote:

“I could imagine how a child raised by a Christian mother might see himself as a natural bridge between her two Muslim husbands. I could also speculate how that child’s abandonment by those men could lead him, many years later, to seek acceptance by their co-religionists.”

Estranged: This picture shows the only time Barack Obama met his father, Barack Obama Sr.

Obama’s father, Barack Obama Sr., was a Muslim who married Obama’s mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, in 1961 and divorced her three years later.

From age five to age ten or eleven, Obama lived in Indonesia, the world’s most populous nation, where he seemed to have taken on the surname of his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro.

During the radio interview Sunday, Klein asked Oren to elaborate on his claim about Obama’s Muslim father figures allegedly influencing his policy toward the Muslim world.

Oren told his interviewer: “The role of an ambassador is to understand your counterparts. The people you have to work with. So when I came to Washington as ambassador in 2009 we had a new president, President Obama. He wasn’t very well known. He hadn’t been in politics that long. And he clearly had some very strong feelings about the Middle East and what he called the Muslim world.”

Oren noted Obama’s use of the term “Muslim world” was “very indicative.”

“That was his term, The Muslim world. Which also is very indicative. I don’t believe there is a Muslim world. It’s a very loaded term. It’s taken from Islam.”

Oren continued:

“And it was my job to figure out. And I went back and I read every speech and every interview. And I particularly read his books. It was very interesting to read his books. Especially the books he wrote before he was running for president. And he talked about all of these connections. And people have very short memories. He would always flag his Muslim family connections in his early speeches, including in his first inaugural address, in the Cairo speech. His first television appearance was to Al Arabiya television in Dubai. His first trips abroad were to Turkey and then to Egypt. And he talked about these connections.”

Oren maintained to Klein that “it’s a legitimate question” to ask whether the “abandonment” by Sotoro and Obama Sr. have been partially driving Obama’s foreign policy.

“It’s a very important question for an ambassador to ask,” he added. “Okay, the president is saying these connections are important to him. And these connections lead him to reach out to the Muslim world. Then certainly it’s in Israel’s interests to find out the way it may impact us.”

The Anti-Defamation League criticized Oren’s piece at Foreign Policy last week, calling the former ambassador’s characterizations of Obama’s alleged issues regarding his father and stepfather “insensitive and unjustified,” and the ADL asked Oren to “walk back” his views.

ADL National Director Abraham Foxman in a statement, that Oren’s essay “veers into the realm of conspiracy theories, and with an element of amateur psychoanalysis he links U.S. policies in the Middle East to the president’s personal history of having a Muslim father.”

“This results in borderline stereotyping and insensitivity,” added Foxman.

Now Chuck Norris strikes fear into baseball pitchers

When action movie and “Walker Texas Ranger” television star and longtime WND columnist Chuck Norris does pushups, he doesn’t push himself up, he pushes the Earth down. He sleeps with a night-light because the dark is afraid of him and America’s favorite tough guy can lead a horse to water AND make it drink.

And now, among the various “Chuck Norris facts” that roam the Internet, there’s another. Only this actually is a fact, it’s on video.

Now it’s “cool” for his face to appear on the knob of a baseball bat in a major-league game.

Totalprosports reported Tuesday that Diamondbacks catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia has Norris’ picture on the end of his bat.

“I mean, if you want to hit for power, you’re not going to put Seth Rogen up there, are you? Nah. It’s gonna be Chuck Norris,” the report said.

Norris, whose career encompasses a long list of action movies as well as the “Walker” series, began his career not in movies, television or in the world of Internet trivia. As part of his work with the martial arts, he taught celebrity students, including Steve McQueen, Bob Barker, Priscilla Presley, and Donnie and Marie Osmond.

WND also has reported Norris’ image as a tough guy simply hasn’t reached its zenith.

Norris often has played down the idea that he’s some sort of superhero, however, despite the stories that his image was destined for Mt. Rushmore, but the granite wasn’t tough enough for his beard, that his tears cure cancer (only he’s never cried), the only time he ever used a stunt double was for a crying scene and that people should take his advice on political races because, “You can always ignore my advice. The dinosaurs did.”

Earlier in 2015, on the occasion of his 75th birthday, he shared some of the wisdom he’s acquired through the years.

“I will forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements,” Norris said. “I will continually work at developing love, happiness and loyalty in my family and acknowledge that no other success can compensate for failure at home.”

Asked what is one of the most significant life lessons he’s learned in his 75 years, Norris told WND, “Never give up on anything you feel passionate about. If you can visualize what you want to achieve, then the odds are you can succeed at your goal.”

Norris has been writing a weekly column exclusively for WND since Oct. 23, 2006.

He also founded the United Fighting Arts Federation with more than 2,300 black belts all over the world. In 1997, Norris achieved another milestone in his life by being the first man ever in the Western Hemisphere to be awarded an eighth-degree Black Belt Grand Master recognition in the Tae Kwon Do system. This was a first in 4,500 years of tradition.

Norris is also a New York Times bestselling author of “Black Belt Patriotism.”

The Norrises have shared that next to their family, their greatest mission in life is their Kickstart Kids Foundation. In 1992 with the help of President George H.W. Bush, the program was launched in four public middle schools in Houston. For more than 20 years, Kickstart Kids has developed and delivered an in-school physical education program based on martial arts that teaches responsibility and character development, while building self-esteem and engaging kids in a school-based activity. The program is dedicated to giving middle-school students the tools and support necessary to resolve conflicts, avoid participating in gangs, choose a drug-free lifestyle, resist negative peer pressure, remain in school until they graduate, achieve a higher level of academic success and ultimately become productive members of communities. Today, Kickstart Kids serves more than 7,000 children daily and has graduated approximately 80,000 students, with many going on to college.
